Common or Highly Searched Questions about Cars
You probably have lots of questions to ask when buying a used car. Well, we thought it’d be interesting to look at what our fellow San Diego neighbors are punching into Google about cars. Then we thought we’d try to answer them… if we can.
1. “Used Cars Near Me”
One of the most searched questions when it comes to cars, this one is easy for us to answer. Express Auto Auction is located at 8920 Paseo de la Fuente Norte, San Diego, CA 92154.
Can’t wait to see you. π We know, we know, a shameless plug. Also, if you’re on a budget, read through our best used cars under $5,000.
2. “How Much is My Car Worth?”
What a relatable question this is! Likely most of us have been here. A recent repair has come up. We want to sell and upgrade or just sell and replace.
While there are tools out there such as Kelley Blue Book’s resource, or Car and Driver’s calculator, one way to find out not just how much it’s worth but what it will sell for is selling at auction.

3. “When Were Cars Invented?”
In a way, this is surprising. It’s not a question to do with repairing or buying or selling. But in another way, it’s not surprising. We’re curious and we love to learn.
To answer that question, we have to go back to Germany and France at the turn of the 19th century. Karl Benz, Emile Lavassor, Gottlieb Daimler, and others were perfecting the automobile before Henry Ford and America took the car mainstream before World War I.
The U.S. dominated the industry for decades, but now it’s Japanese makes and models that wear the crown.
Here’s a great article on the history of the car.
4. “How to Jump a Car?”
Another very practical search. There are tons of websites and videos that outline this.
You’ll need jumper cables!
- Clamp the positive cable to the positive terminal of the failing battery. Clamp the other end to the strong battery.
- Clamp the negative cable to the negative terminal of the good battery and the other end to a clean metallic part of the engine.
- Start the car with the good battery and let the weak battery charge for a bit.
- Start the car with the bad battery.
5. “What is the Fastest Car in the World?”
[SPOILERS] So… some controversy here. Multiple claims are made consistently. The top contenders are usually Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and Hennessey, along with some newer names showing up.
Now, the fastest car in the world is not street-legal. It’s the Thrust SSC and clocks a blistering 763 mph. It’s basically a rocket with a seat strapped to it. It broke the sound barrier for crying out loud.
The fastest street-legal cars have now broken the 300 mile-per-hour mark and that’s still ridiculously fast! The title of fastest belongs to the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ which hit 304 mph. π²
Other models have clocked faster speeds on the racing track, but they are limited to the track, so not street-legal.
6. “What is the Most Expensive Car in the World?”
Like the previous search, this is such a fun search for the curious and the car enthusiast. But is the most expensive car a supercar or hypercar? Is the most expensive also the fastest from the likes of Bugatti, Lamborghini, Pagani, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, or Mercedes?
No, it’s another classic luxury brand: Rolls-Royce.
This time it’s the company’s handcrafted “Boat Tail”, rumored to have been bought for $28 million. π€―
BTW, Rolls-Royce held the throne of most expensive car previously in 2017 when its “Sweptail” debuted.
7. “How to Draw a Car?”
We were surprised by this entry, but yes, thousands of people are wondering this every month.
As for us at Express Auto Auction, we’ll stick to auctions and leave the drawing to the professionals.
8. “How to Buy a Car?”
Now, we’re talking! In San Diego, we may not have the most luxurious or fastest cars on the lot, but our used cars will get the job done whether you’re heading to the beach, the mountains, to work, or home.
